Label TextLike Louis Sullivan and other Praire School architects, George Washington Maher took a comprehensive approach to architectural design. He regularly employed a central decorative theme to unify his interiors. For the Patten House, Maher chose a thistle motif, which he used throughout the project. This entry-hall window was produced under the direction of the stained-glass artist Louis Millet.
