Label TextAfter studying printmaking in Paris, McMillen settled in Provincetown, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod in 1950. Even at that early date, the town was known as an artistic community. In this striking woodcut, McMillen plays with the steeply pitched roofs and the line of laundry strung in the foreground, emphasizing the geometric rhythm created by the Provincetown buildings.Status
