DescriptionThe sitter in this portrait is Mrs. ASC Forbe's mother. Mrs. ASC Forbes herself was a pictorialist photographer and a printer who held the first photographic salon in Los Angeles in 1903. She worked with Charles Lummis in forming the Landmarks Club and the El Camino Real Association. This photograph is important because it helps to establish Weston's link to this community.
