Label Text:In a vision of future times, the warrior angel Michael shows to Adam humanity's salvation through Christ's crucifixion. The nail through Christ's feet pierces the head of the serpent; Death and Sin (see illustration 2) lie defeated below the cross. Eve sleeps at the bottom of the design; neither Milton nor Blake give her direct access to Michael's prophecy.
