DescriptionRed painted blanket chest with carved quarter fans on top and front panel together with carved sunbursts centered on each side and front; 18th century forged nail construction with thumbnail molded top; shaped top cleats; and unusual notched boot jack ends; original red paint with later 19th century clear varnish oxidized finish; original snipe hinges; Constructed entirely of America white pine; 19th century owners stencil on back: “S.O. Eaton”
