DescriptionThis statue portrays Earth as a woman holding a cornucopia that represents the riches of the earth. She is standing by a creature of the earth, a lion, and she is wearing a crown, which represents city life. This is one of four statues portraying Earth, Air, Water, and Fire that represent the four elements which many ancient cultures proposed to explain the nature and complexity of all the matter in terms of simpler substances.
