DescriptionSatyr seated on a hillock, his pipes and staff lying on the ground near his cloven hoofs; he holds a bunch of grapes above the expectant, upturned face of a nude nymph who lies across his knees, her arms embracing him. Around them are strewn a tambourine and grapes, thyrsus and pipes. Dark patina. On bleu turquin marble base.

Markings77280/45 written in red crayon or pencil in two places on the bottom of the marble socle. Same number written again in red crayon on a metal plate inside the sculpture and on the inside of the sculpture's oval base, and again in black pencil, also on the inside of the sculpture's oval base.
